After the election on 22 August, we have a new Parent's Representative on the Management Committee. Vivek Bhushan is our new rep. for the year 2009-2010.
Brimming with ideas- as many of you already know, he organizes the sports every morning at the School, and has recently started the adults Yoga session. He has already had a meeting with the parents reps. from earlier years to take stock of long-standing issues and to reaffirm the values of the School. Which, you might like to recall, is what drew us to put our children in this School in the first place...
This blog will continue for the foreseeable future, and one can only hope that as the year passes more of you will participate by sending your comments, adding to posts, and so on.

Congratulations to Vivek Bhushan for being the new parent's representative. I urge him too to be a blogger as it helps in bonding. I think Prof. It is not easy to be parent representative and one needs to have life skills to handle properly. Let's all hope for the best and one thing I would like to say that MIS is the best school. Please bear this in mind, then only we can progress. Let's join hands and work together. I wish Mr. Bhushan good luck and thanks to Prof. Ramaswamy, JNU.
Congratulations to Vivek Bhushan. Its great that he makes an active effort to push the sports program.
Thanks from all of us to Prof. Ramaswamy for being the student rep and also for starting and maintaining this blog. We hope this will keep going, as its is a great forum, and also the only one we know of to keep ourselves informed on issues, as the website is quite static!

I'm glad to see some activity on the blog- feedback is crucial for the parent's rep, so please be in constant touch.
It is also important to make the MIS website less static. Parents- please speak up. On the websites of most schools these days, there are notices, homework, class assignments and so on that are posted so that students and parents can access this information easily. We need a MIS website that has such information!
Congrats to Mr. Bhushan. Prof. Ramaswamy, Thanks for your tremendous efforts in kick-starting great initiatives and we hope you continue to support with your ideas and more initiatives. A group of parents along with Ms. Sanghamitra Ghosh, are trying to help the children from economically weaker sections cope up with english. They need volunteers to help these bright children succeed. Parents, please help. This is maybe our way of being part of the 'Teach India' campaign. Watch this space for more info on the same.
Dear Mr. Bhushan,
On Teachers day, I was sad to see some the girl students dressed to kill. The kind of sarees they wore, the deep neck blouses and the tattoos that they flaunted. It appeared to me that they were in school to walk the ramp!
As parents, it is our responsibility to ensure that our children are decently attired when they go to school. We should be able to draw a line on what is permissible and what is not. It is understandable if they are out to party. But this dress code is an absolute no-no when they are to be teaching the youngsters in their very own school. Are the parents so blind or have they succumbed to their children's whims and fancies and lost all their sensibilities?
I did not know whether the teachers noticed this and acted upon it but my sincere word of advice to the management is to declare teachers day as a holiday and let the teachers chill it out. With time, they should relax their rules!
I completely agree with the parent who has commented on the dress sense of the kids on teacher's day. Most of us mother's were quite shocked to see the revealing clothes many of the class XII girls wore on that daY. Is that what representing teachers means to these kids? Its sad that this is allowed to happen in a school Like MIS.
Dear Mr Bhushan
Congratulations, rather a belated one. One thing that is troubling me as a parent of a VIIth std. child is they are quite addicted to computers and I believe the main attraction is not educative papers but FACEBOOK and the like. Can MIS explin to the children the plus/minus points of these sites like they did about the birds and the bees as part of their curriculum?? Can you please discuss this point with the school authorities so that they can take up this matter on a professional level? This matter needs to be addressed. Thanks.
A recent news of MIS not having the DTC fleet from the 1st of April is disturbing. There is a rumour that an admission case was forwarded by the Transport Minister, which was not entertained by the school authority. That is why the bus contract has not been renewed. If such is the case, the matter should be made public and necessary action should be taken against the Minister.
